Visiting Lacassine Pool

Fishing Lacassine Pool     My second and final day of fishing on this trip ended with us visiting Lacassine pool. I had my doubts about this spot because all i heard was that it is full of bass. After parking and looking at some of the fish breaking the surface i very quickly learned that the primary fish here are actually Gar. The species i was able to see mostly were the Needlenose Gar. I ended up at the boat launch, the road ends right there, where i ended up trying my luck in some of the deeper water. What i thought was that the fish breaking the surface were actually catfish along with gar, I was wrong. Species Alligator Gar Bowfin/Shoepick Needlenose Gar Spotted Gar

Visiting Sabine Refuge

Heading to Sabine Refuge  Like any good fishing trip, beginning and adventure to a new location can be….daunting. You never really know what WILL work but on what you think MIGHT work. This trip started off in Louisiana just like my previous visit, at Academy Sports. This time the difference was that i was not here to buy a new set up. I had come with what i thought i would need to fish in the same location as last time in Creole. After finding out we were heading to some waterways near the Sabine Refuge, which you cannot fish in, I grabbed the most important thing, sunflower seeds. After my girlfriend decided to get a small freshwater rod we were on our way!     The initial spot that we had stopped at was a location that had a sort of spill way where the water was flowing into the marshes. While it was not what i had hoped for it did offer up a chance to try some bottom fishing for maybe catfish. So i threw on some mullet and a bobber and let that bait sink. The steel leader, brough

Visiting Downtown Plymouth

Welcome to America’s Home Town! One of the top places every one seems to come to in the summer is my hometown of Plymouth Massachusetts. When you go walking downtown in Plymouth you will encounter large groups of people walking and shopping. The hardest part, even for a local, is finding some place to park while being close to everything. For this reason many locals will avoid going downtown during the day. Parking in the actual center, if you find a spot, is going to be the most convenient location but there are plenty of other places just on the outskirts of Main St that you can easily put your car.  But where to Park? Here is a quick run down on parking spots but also keep in mind that you may need to pay for some of them. Plymouth has now outsourced their pay to park to a third party and they will ticket you, even on weekends!  Stevens Field  - lets face it many of us travel with kids. Let them run around a little here before listening to them complain about having to walk. Town Br
